This website is run by the Scottish Government. We're continuously working to make employabilityinscotland.com as accessible and usable as possible for all abilities and disabilities.

 

We try to make our site easy to use with assistive technologies by using:

• easier-to-read colours
• larger fonts
• plain English
• keyboard-only navigation
• alternative text on images

 

You should be able to:

• change colours, contrast levels and fonts
• zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
• navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
• listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

 

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

 

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

 

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

• most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
• some visual navigation aids, alt text descriptors and colour schemes on this website may not currently be fully accessible

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

• We are consulting a Lived Experience Panel to help with our strategic approach to accessibility across our websites.
• Content editors are being trained to ensure new content is accessible and have access to our training materials and guidance.
• An annual online audit and testing process, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA has been developed and implemented.
• We are committed to continually addressing any errors as we identify them in a timely manner.
• We are working to convert documents into html format where possible.
• We are reviewing accessibility as part of our website continuous improvement project over the next 12 months.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the accessibility regulations (the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018).
